Do you want a beautiful, straight smile but don't want to wear traditional metal braces? Invisible braces Invisalign are the most modern method of orthodontic treatment, allowing you to straighten your teeth discreetly, comfortably and effectively. At The Clinic Prague, we specialise in orthodontics using the latest technologies and Invisalign is one of the most popular solutions among our patients. Orthodontics is not just about aesthetics. Properly aligned teeth improve not only your appearance, but also the health of your oral cavity. Straight teeth help prevent tooth decay, gum inflammation and jaw joint problems.
Why undergo orthodontic treatment?
- Straight teeth: Irregular tooth alignment, such as crooked or crowded teeth, can cause not only aesthetic problems but also health complications. Invisible braces allow for gradual and discreet alignment of teeth into their ideal position.
- Bite correction: Incorrectly positioned teeth can lead to bite problems, which can cause chewing difficulties, excessive tooth wear and, in some cases, jaw joint pain. Orthodontic treatment helps to align the jaws correctly and ensure comfortable and effective chewing.
- Healthier teeth: Crooked or crowded teeth are more difficult to clean, which increases the risk of tooth decay and gum disease. Straightening teeth makes daily oral hygiene easier, leading to better overall oral health.
- Higher self-confidence: A beautiful smile has a significant impact on self-confidence and the overall impression we make on other people. Invisible braces allow for discreet teeth correction, so you can enjoy a natural look without metal wires and brackets during treatment.
What types of braces do we offer?
Invisalign invisible braces – a modern solution
Transparent aligners are placed on the teeth and gradually move them into the correct position. They are comfortable, hygienic and virtually invisible, with no metal brackets or wires. Thanks to 3D digital planning, patients can see in advance what their smile will look like after treatment. Invisalign is currently the most popular method of teeth straightening worldwide.
Metal braces – the classic
The best-known and most widely used type of braces with metal brackets and wires. They are one of the most effective ways to correct even more complex dental defects, and are also one of the more affordable options. The disadvantage is that they are highly visible on the teeth.
Ceramic braces – the aesthetic option
Instead of metal brackets, white or transparent ones are used, so they blend in with the teeth and are less noticeable. However, wire is still necessary, which may be visible upon closer inspection. This is a compromise between the effectiveness of classic braces and a more aesthetic appearance.
Lingual braces – hidden from the inside
These special brackets are glued to the inner (tongue) side of the teeth, so they are completely invisible from the outside. These braces are very discreet, but they are one of the more expensive solutions and may be less comfortable for the patient, especially at the beginning of treatment.
Removable braces – mainly for children
These are mainly used for children and adolescents, when it is still possible to influence jaw growth. The braces can be removed at any time, which makes cleaning easier, but also places greater demands on the child's discipline. They have only limited use in adults.
Advantages of Invisalign invisible braces
- Discretion: The transparent aligners are almost invisible, no one will notice them. Ideal for adults and teenagers.
- Comfort: No wires or metal brackets to irritate the gums or tongue. Custom-made from smooth material.
- No restrictions on eating: No special diet. You take the braces off, eat as usual, and then put them back on.
- Digital planning: Treatment is planned in advance using 3D scanning, so you know exactly how your teeth will look.
- Fewer visits to the orthodontist: No need for frequent adjustments as with traditional braces. The aligners are replaced at regular intervals.
- Safe for athletes and musicians: They do not interfere with sports, playing wind instruments or other activities.
What is needed before starting treatment
For orthodontic treatment to be successful and without complications, the teeth must first be prepared:
- Removal of tooth decay - before braces are fitted, all cavities must be treated. Invisalign should never be fitted on damaged teeth.
- Extraction of wisdom teeth (eighth teeth) - if there is not enough space for wisdom teeth and they are pushing on other teeth, we recommend their surgical removal before starting treatment.
- Removal of the labial or sublingual frenulum - a short or improperly positioned frenulum can affect the stability of the result. Therefore, we sometimes recommend surgical release.
- Regular dental hygiene – patients with braces must visit a professional dental hygienist regularly, preferably every 3–6 months. This is the only way to keep teeth healthy throughout the treatment.
What is the procedure from A to Z?
- Make an appointment for a consultation with a specialist (children and adults), the price is CZK 2,500.
- Immediately after the examination, you will receive a treatment plan and price calculation.
- We will book you in for a scan within three weeks.
- The scan will be performed and the braces will be sent to production, which takes approximately 4-6 weeks.
- This is followed by the fitting of the braces (about 1 hour) and detailed instructions.
- The first check-up at the clinic is in two weeks, after which you change the aligners at home every 8–10 days.
- Check-ups at the clinic take place regularly every two months.
- The total treatment usually lasts 6 to 24 months.
- Treatment is only completed when you are fully satisfied with the result.
