Teeth Whitening
Which teeth whitening method should you choose?
From laser teeth whitening to peroxide teeth whitening to home teeth whitening using strips or the Pure Whitening method.
If you are considering teeth whitening, you will probably come across various methods – from laser teeth whitening, through peroxide teeth whitening, to home teeth whitening using strips or special whitening toothpaste. Each of these methods has its place, but also its limitations.
Laser teeth whitening
Laser teeth whitening is usually quick and visible after just one visit. The laser activates the whitening gel and immediately lightens the surface of the tooth. The problem is that the effect mainly affects the outer layer of enamel, so pigments stored deeper remain unaffected. This means that even if the result looks great, the shade may return within a few weeks or months.
Teeth whitening with peroxide
In-office teeth whitening with peroxide works in a similar way. A strong concentration of gel lightens teeth in a short time, but mainly affects the surface. Many patients experience temporary sensitivity after this type of treatment because their teeth receive a sudden dose of chemical action. The effect is significant, but without follow-up care at home, it is short-lived.
Opalescence teeth whitening
Another option is Opalescence teeth whitening. This method has good results, but here too, there is often no systematic home phase to maintain the effect. The result is better than with over-the-counter products, but the whiteness loses its intensity over time.
Home teeth whitening
Home teeth whitening using whitening strips or whitening toothpaste is attractive because of its simplicity and low cost. However, both strips and toothpaste only work on the surface and the whitening effect is usually mild. In addition, it is not possible to perfectly adapt the strips to the shape of the teeth, so the whitening may not be even.
Pure Whitening method
In contrast to these methods is the combined Pure Whitening method, which can be described as the best teeth whitening for those who want lasting and natural results. The treatment begins in the dentist's office, where the teeth are professionally prepared, and then continues at home. Thanks to individually manufactured trays and precisely dosed gel, the whitening reaches even the deeper layers of the tooth. This not only prolongs the effect, but also ensures an even shade from the edge to the centre of the tooth. In addition, it is a painless teeth whitening method, as the home phase uses lower concentrations of gel that are gentle on the enamel.
Pure Whitening thus combines the advantages of professional treatment in the dentist's office with the convenience of home care. You can renew the results at any time without having to go through the entire process again at the dentist's office. This is a difference that other methods – whether laser teeth whitening, peroxide teeth whitening, opalescence teeth whitening, teeth whitening strips or teeth whitening paste – cannot offer in such a comprehensive and long-lasting form.
