How does CEREC treatment work?
CEREC treatment is a revolutionary method that allows you to restore damaged teeth in a single visit to the dentist.
CEREC treatment is a revolutionary method that allows you to restore damaged teeth in a single visit to the dentist. Thanks to advanced digital technology and a 3D scanner, the entire process is quick, painless and comfortable. Instead of traditional impressions using material, we use modern scanning, which means you will not experience any discomfort.
How is a dental crown created using CEREC?
- Tooth and tissue preparation: If tooth and tissue preparation is necessary before the procedure, it is performed under local anaesthesia, ensuring comfort throughout the procedure.
- 3D scan: After the tooth has been prepared, a digital 3D scan is taken using the CEREC 3D scanner directly in your mouth. This step is completely comfortable and quick, without the need for unpleasant impression material.
- Modelling the ceramic restoration: The CEREC software system processes the 3D scan and the dentist uses a computer to model the ceramic restoration for the repaired tooth with great precision.
- Production of the restoration: Once the model is complete, CEREC sends the data to a milling machine, which creates the selected type of ceramic restoration (ceramic onlay, inlay, veneer, short bridge or crown) in a matter of minutes.
- Final adjustments: After the ceramic replacement has been created, final adjustments are made, including polishing or glazing, and the replacement is then attached to the tooth.
- Complete procedure: The entire procedure takes approximately 3 hours, during which time you will receive a functional and aesthetically natural tooth that is indistinguishable from your own teeth.
