What are ceramic dental veneers?

Veneers are used for aesthetic correction of your teeth. Veneers are used to adjust the colour, shape and position of your teeth. The root of the tooth remains unchanged, and only the crown part of the tooth, which is visible to the patient, is changed, similar to a new facade. They are very fragile slices made of ceramic or zirconium, approximately 0.3 mm to 1 mm thick, which are bonded to the front surface of the tooth. The tooth must be prepared very carefully, gently ground to the thickness of the future veneer, and all cavities and old fillings in the tooth must be removed so that the base for the veneer is as good as possible, otherwise the veneers will fall off, not stick, or may break.

How are ceramic veneers used on teeth?

Our philosophy on how to prepare a tooth for a veneer is very precise, thorough and has been proven over decades. Our procedures guarantee that the veneer will bond to your tooth as well as your natural enamel. You can use veneers without restriction, just like your teeth. We most often recommend the reconstruction of 10 teeth (from five to five), mainly for functional reasons, so that your teeth are in bite and chewing balance. There are also veneers that do not require preparation, but it is very rare for a patient's condition to be such that it is not necessary to grind the teeth.

This is a very popular solution for patients who want to significantly change the colour of their teeth and improve their shape, giving themselves a new, beautiful smile with white and straight teeth, which we also refer to as a "Hollywood smile". Don't worry, the colour and shape of the teeth are chosen by the patient themselves with the dental technician in our own dental laboratory.
