Ceramic Veneers

How to care for dental veneers?

Read about how to properly care for dental veneers.

  • Regular cleaning: Clean veneers just like your natural teeth – at least twice a day. Use toothpaste without abrasive ingredients to avoid damaging the surface of the veneers. Your toothbrush should have soft bristles to prevent scratching the ceramic laminates.

  • Use interdental brushes or dental floss: For best results, use interdental brushes or dental floss to help remove food debris between your teeth and around your veneers.

  • Avoid hard foods: Veneers are more fragile than natural teeth, so you should avoid biting into hard foods such as nuts, ice, or hard candies.

  • Avoid staining: Although ceramic veneers are highly resistant to stains, it is recommended to limit your consumption of foods and beverages that can cause staining (e.g., coffee, red wine, smoking).

  • Regular dental check-ups: Visit your dentist regularly to check the condition of your veneers and the overall health of your teeth. During check-ups, your dentist can remove plaque and tartar that could damage your veneers.

  • Be careful when biting: If you tend to grind your teeth (bruxism), consider wearing a mouth guard to protect your veneers from damage.

  • Good oral hygiene habits: It is recommended to use mild, alcohol-free mouthwashes to avoid damaging your gums and veneers.
