Wisdom Tooth Extraction

How to prepare for having your wisdom teeth removed?

Preparing properly for wisdom tooth extraction reduces stress and ensures smooth recovery.

Are you about to have your wisdom teeth removed? Good preparation is half the battle.

Food and drink before wisdom tooth extraction Local anaesthesia: Be sure to eat before the procedure to prevent weakness from hunger. Analgosedation: You must arrive on an empty stomach at least 6 hours in advance.

Choose loose and comfortable clothing. If you are undergoing a procedure under analgosedation, arrange for someone to take you home – you must not drive after sedation.

Preparing your home Keep gel pads in the freezer to reduce swelling as soon as you get home. Stock up on soft foods – yoghurts, mashed potatoes, soups (lukewarm), puddings or ice cream. At The Clinic, you will also receive a special package after the procedure that contains everything you need for healing.

Mental well-being Thanks to modern procedures and effective anaesthesia, the procedure itself is completely painless at our clinic. If you are very anxious, discuss the possibility of analgosedation, which will allow you to literally sleep through the procedure.
