Emergency Dental Care

When to go to the dental emergency room?

We have compiled a list of urgent symptoms that require a visit to the dental emergency room.

We have compiled a list of urgent symptoms that require a visit to the dental emergency room. The Clinic dental emergency room in Prague is available to both registered and non-registered patients.

It is necessary to visit the dental emergency service in the following cases:

  • Persistent pain: Intense toothache, sharp shooting or throbbing pain, or dull persistent pain that does not subside after several hours. Painkillers are ineffective, and cooling the area does not help either. The pain is intense, usually worsening in the evening, and may even wake you up at night.
  • Visible swelling: Swelling of the gums, cheeks or other parts of the face, which may be a sign of infection spreading to other areas, the head and neck.
  • Persistent bleeding: Bleeding that does not stop, especially after major surgery or in patients taking blood-thinning medication.
  • Dental injury: Painful knocking out or breaking of a tooth, tooth luxation (displacement or loosening of a tooth as a result of injury).

For registered patients, we are available at any time by telephone appointment. For non-registered patients, we are available during office hours.
